If you ever wanted to take revenge, you’d want it to be this devious, stylish and audacious. . .
THE VETERAN - FREDERICK FORSYTH
Revenge is a dish best served cold.
An unknown man is robbed and killed on a lonely street in a bad neighbourhood. Detective Jack Burns painstakingly builds the case against two anti-social elements who were positively identified by a single witness.
While Burns works up an iron-clad case against the two killers a vicious ice-cold lawyer takes up the cause of justice and defends the two accused.
Meanwhile a vigilante has slowly emerged and is determined to take the law into his own hands in order to give the real killers a fitting end.
While these three elements face off in the pursuit of justice only one will win. In true Forsyth tradition the plot slyly corners and outfoxes you. Before you know it your reality has been altered and you’re pummeled and knocked down to the ground.
